The eponymous label has a focus on bespoke knitwear and effeminate tailoring. The GAIA universe also features a passion for interiors and the objects within them. Her love for hidden details fostered by a desire to reinvent silhouettes, textures and fabrics, further shape the philosophy behind GAIA’s designs and interiors.
GAIAs designs and interiors are novel expressions alluding to a determined and unmistakable expressive look. Lavish knits are carefully fused with selected vintage fabrics, subtly influenced by GAIA’s curious exploration of the textural composition of materials, qualities and weaving structures. Juxtaposing hand painted fabrics with frayed hems, gold paper and silk ribbons with tree logs and candles conveys a quirky eye for detail, and a uniquely appealing color palette that emanate from her interior motifs and objects.
GAIA evolves around the crossroads between the old and new, of exposure and luscious detailing, not always submerging on the surface. She reinvents vintage fabrics, resuscitates found objects, and utilizes a skillful craftsmanship and rare inventiveness. Hidden and elegantly cherished, a poetic and mysterious picture of our torrential day-to-day is presented on the premises that inspiration can be found in the faintest items, objects and encounters in the world and its artistic canvas.
